Private Dinner Party, Trevor and Michelle Deacon, Birthday Celebration

I've cooked for Trevor and Michelle several times before and so it was a fantastic pleasure to have a return visit to cater a very special Birthday for Michelle. Having recently moved from Porchester to Petersfield, it was a change of venue but a brilliant new large kitchen to work from and having a little tour, I was extremely impressed with the open bar in the basement! :) With a warm welcome as always and a nice cup of coffee, I got unpacked and set up for the evening. We had an Asian theme through the main course which really went down well and gave me chance to show off, cooking all the parts of the Chicken with plenty of Chilli, Coconut, Coriander and Spice. We had 12 guests so I had the charming Roger to help me and the whole evening was a fantastic night.

Private Dinner Party Chef, Surprise Dinner, Michelle, Jon and Family




I do enjoy a Celebratory Dinner Party and it was a fabulous event in Southampton for my latest Surprise Birthday Gourmet Feast. Being made to feel so welcome from arrival, it was a huge pleasure to cook and serve up some delectable canapes and a further delicious seven courses for such lovely people in their beautiful home. :) I had a split menu as half the guests were vegetarian and so I got to cook up some amazing dishes and play around with some fabulous ingredients. Setting up as usual around two hours prior to the first course, I arrived with all the food, crockery, cutlery and my box of tricks. I managed to stay a surprise until the Beautiful Birthday Girl arrived and it was a brilliant start with Champagne and Vegetarian Canapes followed by a Fantastic Food Journey right up to my "Trio of Desserts" and Petit Fours. Enjoying a glass of Warming and Fruity Malbec with everyone at the end of the meal was a highlight and  topped the evening off perfectly.

Private Dinner Party, Surprise Birthday, Lymington

I really love travelling to and through Lymington as it is such a beautiful little town and have catered many Dinner Parties there over the past few years. This week I visited a lovely holiday home which hosted Robert and his family to celebrate Celia's surprise Birthday! I was contacted so that everyone could relax and enjoy a delicious dinner when the "Surprise Chef" arrived to cook for the evening. The menu had been arranged prior to the evening via email and so it was a pleasure to finally meet Rob at the house. I was made to feel most welcome, with the whole family being really friendly. The kitchen was open plan and so I was on display but I love being sociable so it was all great. I remained a secret to Celia until I served the canapes in the lounge which was a very well kept surprise and shortly afters everyone joined me in the kitchen area for three further courses. Unfortunately my Apple Swan had lost her head to a hungry young lady before the starter of King Prawns and Chorizo arrived but the thought was still there. ;) another fabulous Dinner Party for fabulous guests :)

Birthday Dinner Party Celebration, Marilyn and Tony Freeman







Catering for Private Dinner Parties is a fantastic and rewarding experience for me. It is even more special when I get to return to cook for such lovely people as Marilyn and Tony, and of course their equally lovely family and friends. The first time was for Marilyn's Birthday and was one of my first 7 course menus in June 2013. The most recent being this weekend for Tony's Celebration on Primrose Day, which also happens to be my own Birthday! ;) I catered two other 7 Course Dinner Parties this weekend and so it was a superb few days of delicious and delightful Dinner Party Food :) Marilyn had 12 guests round the table so it was a big challenge to get so many plates of food out but I had a lovely spacious kitchen to work in and beautiful helper with me and so the evening went really smoothly.

Private Dinner Party, Ruby Wedding Anniversary Celebration at Saskia's and Chris'

This weekend has been amazingly busy with some fantastic Dinner Parties and on the Friday I had the huge pleasure of providing some decadent canapes and a further eight delicious courses to help celebrate a very special 40th Wedding Anniversary. A few weeks before the Dinner Party date, I visited Saskia, Chris and the rest of the family at their home in Chandlers Ford, Southampton to have a chat about logistics on the night and most importantly, the decisions on food! ;) It was then really exciting to be given free range with the menu, surprising everyone on the evening with some exciting and innovative dishes that would suit all. The whole evening was a fabulous experience and one of my top Dinner Parties to date, with the in-house entertainment including flaming napkins at the table, across the hallway and all the way into the kitchen, subsequent noisy smoke alarms, broken champagne glasses and plenty of tears and laughter!! Each course was served smoothly through the night over about 3 hours, each plate being loved by all, but I am fairly confident the top favourites were my Classic Beef Fillet Wellington and my Trio of Desserts :)
